RV QUICK TIPS

1. Develop a checklist for departure...Oh...No...Wait, We did that for you, check it out.

2. Before starting off, do a walk-around check of your rig. Antennas down; step up; awnings in; jacks up; all shore connections stowed; parking brake (towed) off; etc

3. Check condition and pressure of tires before each drive. Do a walk around check of rig every few hours, when you're traveling.

4. Before starting out always check your lights and signals

5. Always have wheel chocks, or blocks of wood to prevent your unit from rolling

6. Keep a spare key outside your rig (magnetic Hide-a-Key) in case of a lock-out

7. Measure and know the height of your RV

8. Holding tanks should be flushed thoroughly to ensure proper functions of the monitor panel.   Wear disposable gloves

9. Check oil and fluid levels

10. All weight in the RV should be distributed evenly.

11. Install fresh batteries in all detectors and ensure they are working.

12. Walk through the entire RV and secure all loose items. Secure any large items such as TVs and computers that might move or fall while traveling.

13. Before each drive be sure every door, drawer and cabinet in the unit is closed and secured.

14. Before each drive close the vents & windows and secure blinds.

15. Replace the sewer hose that came with your new rig, and buy yourself a really good one. Buy two - a 10 footer and a 20 footer, and be sure that you have a connector to connect them together.

16. Always be sure the hose is securely attached to the sewer outlet and slowly ease the valve open. Be sure that someone's foot, or a heavy rock is holding down the other end.

17. When emptying tanks double check that you closed both valves before you put the cap back on.

18. Have multiple fire extinguishers on hand.

19. Get a carbon monoxide detector. Replace the batteries regularly.

20. Take nothing on board that does not have at least two uses.

21. Save the dishwater in a gallon container to use in the toilet instead of using   water from your freshwater tank.
